I just flashed GingerDX v031b ROM to my X8. I installed some apps like Facebook, WeChat, GO SMS Pro, etc.
They are always running in the background. So I think there is no internal auto task manager on my phone. Where can I get one?

(Sorry for my English. I'm new.)

My X8 runned on GDX every since the v12-13 came out til now, and i was experiencing random boots and freezes every while. (was on dx's LinuxDX then transfered to Alfs (all up to date)), and i decided to try new ROM.
I put on miniCM9 with nAa latest kernel and gave it a shot.
Same thing. I installed it 3 hours ago, already had a random reboot, and performance is awful, freezes, stopped responding apps...

I overclocked to every single value, tried every governor, did swap, KSM, u name it i tried it...

How to fix this? I thought everyone was experinceing that :/
Suggestions?

(Sry 4 bad english)

Lightweight gapps for JB 4.1.2 [2013.06.20]

Hello guys i have made some modifications to nAa's gapps package in order to make it smaller.

Package size is 8,6 Mb compared to 22,5 Mb of nAa's gapps and the lower size means about 20 Mb more free space in /system

Here is what i removed:

- optional
- install-optional.sh
- addon.d
- GenieWidget.apk
- GoogleEars.apk
- Talk.apk
- libflint_engine_jni_api.so - Part of Google TTS. If you use Pico TTS, you do not need this.
- libfrsdk.so - Required for Face Unlock
- libgcomm_jni.so - This is required for the Google+ application, but it is simply installed in /data/data/com.google.android.apps.plus/lib in case you download the application from the Play Store; so it's useless to have it on your /system partition.
- libgoogle_recognizer_jni.so - Required for the Google Now hotword detection
- libvorbisencoder.so - Encodes Vorbis file required for the Google Ears application

If you already have gapps in your rom follow this steps to install:

1) manually delete the libs mentioned above from your phone using a file manager (they are in /system/libs)
2) go to manage applications and delete playstore updates (doing this you will get about 10 Mb more free space in /data)
3) reboot and enter recovery
4) wipe cache and dalvik and then flash gapps

So uum my X8 was recently dropped on the ground by accident and when i picked it up there were no scratches or anything thanks to my silicone mask. But when i try to turn it on it just vibrates and turns the backlight on and nothing else and shuts it self down. Nothing else.
The screen isn't cracked , everything seems to be OK inside when i opened it. but still just the vibration and back light nothing else. Help if you know what is wrong with it.

Repair (resurrect) bootloader SE X8 (E15i) with TTL UART cable

$

Dear Developers,

I've just "hard bricked" a Sony Ericsson E15i (MSM7227 chipset) with a manufacture date of 11W48 while I was messing with the bootloader.

After spending my day on the network, I've found a few trail of people, who were able to recover their phones from this state, which is the total death.

One of them used Omnius for SE with the "Repair S1-boot" option, with a homemade UART cable from a Nokia CA-42. It seems that no other "standard" USB cable would do, because the CA-42 has a UART micro-controller built in. I've found a CA-53 in my drawer, but this article on Nokia cables pointed out, that these have either a "Texas Instrument TUSB3410 RS-232/IR-to-USB converter while some others are using ArkMicro ARK3116T USB-to-UART Controller", which is good, if you have one at home.

Second solution I've found suggests a direct UART cable. As it describes, I need a USB 2.0 to TTL UART CP2102, where CP2102 would mean the chipset. I've learned something about UART, so I decided to buy a "USB 2.0 to TTL UART Module 5 pin Serial Converter CP2102 STC". Is this TTL UART cable, which some folk would call "resurrection cable" or "testpoint cable"?

Here comes the first question: is it good for me?

Lets state that it does. Which software should I use? The two post above suggests Omnius, which needs contribution from my pocket. Is there any free alternative to a bootloader repair with the UART cable I would have? Lets state that there isn't. Does Omnius would do it for me?

Basically I'm searching for more input on this matter, other than the two mentioned post above. I would disregard the use (buy) of JTAG/RIFF for this single scenario.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I was finally able to unlock the bootloader, but now I have another problem.

I flashed the aAn jb kernel, after that it boots into cwm, there I get error that last_log can't be open, I'm not able to do anything besides pulling the battery.
